To celebrate National Students’ Day 2023, UIN RM Said Surakarta Holds ‘Se-Solo Raya Pesantren Expo’

To celebrate National Santri Day 2023, which falls on October 22nd, UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta is organizing a special event called “Se-Solo Raya Pesantren Expo.” This four-day event, taking place from October 19th to October 22nd, will feature the participation of 41 boarding schools from the Solo Raya region, including Sukoharjo, Kota Surakarta, Wonogiri, Sragen, Klaten, and Karanganyar.

The expo will be held at the Graha Building area of UIN RM Said Surakarta and aims to provide a platform for students to showcase their work. Various exhibitions will be set up, showcasing student creations such as batik sarong fabric, snacks, pesantren lodge magazines, flower vases, and other handicrafts. Participating boarding schools include Pondok Pesantren Al-Muayyad Solo, Assalam, Al-Hikmah, Al-Mukmin, Al-Amin Palur, An-Najah Sragen, Ki Ageng Selo Tulung, Walisongo, Muhammadiyah Green School Wonogiri, and many more.

According to KH. Abd. Faishol, Chairman of the HSN Committee UIN RM Said 2023, this event is a way for UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta to celebrate National Santri Day and express their appreciation for santri (Islamic boarding school students) across the country. The committee hopes that this commemoration will not only be a ceremonial event but also benefit students, especially those in Solo Raya.

In addition to the expo, a range of other activities will take place as part of the Pesantren agenda series. On the opening day, there will be a Pesantren Talkshow titled “Commemorating National Santri Day 2023,” featuring speakers Atika Ulfia Adlina, Eva Ida Amaliah, Prof. Umma Farida, and Abdul Karim. This will be followed by a Ruqyah Mass ceremony led by KH. Kholil and a Creative Stage event.

The following day, a Santri Carnival will take place, with hundreds of students marching from UIN RM Said Surakarta to the Pajang Government Site. A grave cleaning event will be held, and there will also be a Halal Talkshow, Santri Got Talent competition, and the evening will be dedicated to the Santri Bersholawat event.

The agenda continues on Saturday with a Financial and Business Inclusion Talkshow, Reog Santri performance, and Wayang Santri. The event will conclude on Sunday with a Santri Day Ceremony.
